The Book of Eggs: A life-size guide to the eggs of six hundred of the world’s bird species is lovely, sitting quietly in its nest on the Natural History shelves, just waitng for someone to take it down and open it.  It is by Mark E. Hauber, published by the University of Chicago Press. And it is really beautiful….
